As Fall settles in around the Atlanta area it's time to get out of the house, enjoy the cooler temperatures and find some fun things to do with your family. While you're getting some fresh air, why not enjoy some aerobatics?

Great Georgia Air Show
On the following weekend (October 11th through 13th), Peachtree City celebrates the sweetness of fall with the Great Georgia Air Show. This event is one of the top fun things to do with your family in the entire region. Organizers proudly explain their meticulous planning and stringent measures that have provided 14 years of safe family fun. After watching the planes zip through the sky, you can do some gravity defying of your own at the Rockbridge Adventure Recreation Center. The kid-friendly play land features bungee trampolines, climbing walls and much more in affordable open-play sessions. 2013 marks new heights for the GGAS, as they present their first ever night time air show on Friday October 11th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Wings Over North Georgia
Elsewhere on October 12th and 13th, Rome, GA hosts the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show. Kids can play on giant aviation-style inflatable structures and those curious about the real thing can inspect 'static display' aircraft on the ground. If that's not enough you can actually join the airborne action on a U.S. Army sponsored Warbird Ride. A more grounded experience follows a yellow brick road in nearby Atlanta at the Center for Puppetry Arts. A production of The Wizard of Oz hosts 2 afternoon shows on Saturday and Sunday. One the truly fun things to do with your family is to experience an American tradition of storytelling presented in this unique, innovative format.
On October 19th and 20th, Augusta, GA hosts the 21st Annual Boshears Skyfest. This event proudly announces that it is 'more than an airshow'. Aside from aeronautics, the weekend will feature a car show, jet dragsters and the motor-less flying magic of glider demonstrations. The organizers are on a mission to raise awareness among the youth of the region of aviation's history in Augusta. The Skyfet honors the memory of Forest and Buster Boshears, local heroes who contributed greatly to aviation in the American Southeast. Those in the mood for shopping and music rather than roaring engines can mosey over to the Saturday Market on the River. This weekly street gathering features music by local artists as well as local crafts, produce and baked goods.
Gather the gang together and jump in the car. It is time to find some fun things to do with you family this October. The good times are flying overhead, up and down and all around!
